President of National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Visits University of Tsukuba

On December 5, H.E. Dr. KHUSHVAKHTSODA Kobiljon Khushvakht, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, visited the University of Tsukuba and met with President NAGATA Kyosuke, Vice President for Global Affairs IKEDA Jun, Executive Officer OHNEDA Osamu, and Dean USUYAMA Toshinobu of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The University of Tsukuba has maintained a strong relationship with Tajikistan over the years. In August, we signed new inter-university exchange agreements with two universities in Tajikistan, including Tajik National University. That same month, H.E. Mr. FARHOD Salim, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Japan, visited the university to discuss potential collaborations. During this meeting, participants exchanged views on enhancing future research collaboration in key fields such as agriculture, biology, and astrophysics.

In addition to his meeting with President NAGATA, H.E. Dr. KHUSHVAKHTSODA Kobiljon Khushvakht visited the International Institute for Integrative Sleep Medicine led by Director YANAGISAWA Masashi and the Cybernics Research Center led by Director KURODA Yoshihiro to see the latest research facilities.

This visit further strengthens ties between Tajikistan and the University of Tsukuba, paving the way for deeper research collaboration and exchange in the future.
